Flipped/stuck tampon advice?

Anyone any advice or tricks to help remove? I've had tried everything all day long and DH is 100% unwilling to help at all.
I'm completely aware of TSS etc and I'm absolutely mortified I can't feel far enough to get hold of it, I really do not want to have to got to a WIC as I know 90% of the practice nurses personally through work. Jokes aside other than getting the kitchen tongs out, I'm at a loss.
I'm having a really heavy bleed this month and it feels like it's sat sideways. Do you think a douche with shower might help? I've been doing squats/lunges all morning to try and jiggle about and pray gravity takes its toll. I'm bleeding through still.

Try a bath and having a good search with your fingers. It’s grim I know but happens to lots of people me included. Many years ago I went to A&E in a panic as my partner and I had had sex and then I realised that I still had a tampon in place🤮it was not a fun experience but they were great and assured me they’d dealt with worse.

Do whatever makes you produce vaginal lubrication!

Tell your DH to get a grip and help you out. Or drive you to the nearest walk-in.

Yeah, so I worked in A&E for many years and 99% of the time this was this case. Not for me though, I know what's happened, I've got out the shower last night and I hadn't dried properly when I put it in and it's flipped, I can feel it from the outside, it's like wedged up at the front, if I had a nice flat stomach could probs manipulate to shift it - no such luck.

If Dh is not willing to help, then call 111 for advice. Really should be putting water up there.

I accidentally lost one up there for well over a week and it was horrible.

I managed to get it out by squatting right down and routing around. Managed to get it after about half an hour and a very sore vagina.

Still had to go to the walk in because of the length of time it had been up there and I was worried I hadn't gotten it all. Turns out I had grazed my cervix from the digging too.

Another vote for self pleasure to expand and moisten everything, then squat and gently dig til you get.

If no joy, off to see nurse.

GolgafrinchamB · 01/08/2023 15:21

Minor injuries clinic or a nurse appointment at the GP and they'll retrieve it for you.

Miisty · 01/08/2023 15:23

Please go to A and E as you can get a nasty infection if left in for any length of time and you may need antibiotics Staff are not embarrassed or try’s walk in centre

LardoBurrows · 01/08/2023 15:25

My sympathies Op. I had this once and soaked a while in a warm bath and then managed to get it out with a bit of manoeuvring.

Do a low squat, bear down like you are trying to push a baby out and rummage.
