I’m really struggling with this.

In my early 20’s I developed BV for the first time, and ever since then it has re occurred a handful of times.

I would say I get it once or twice a year, and seemingly this is due to my washing routine. I have always used fragranced products like Dove body wash, Lush bath bombs etc

Im now pregnant again and after the last bout a few weeks ago, I’m determined to keep it away as I don’t want antibiotics again in pregnancy.

Doctors and nurses have both said just use plain water ONLY down there, but when I tried this the result was so unpleasant. An ammonia odor developed and it was generally gross. With BV I never actually had odor, so this is worse!!!

I’ve now taken to using my sons sensitive body wash above the vulva and water below, but still scared I will somehow trigger BV again.

What does everyone else that suffers recurrent BV do l?

If you have a bidet wash gently with that. No perfumed anything. Wash only with dermol 500
