Bartholin Cyst

I am due to go to see the gynaecologist in a few weeks as I have developed a cyst. However, this had disappeared a week or 2 ago.

After sex the other day, I feel like this is returning or a little painful in the entrance. Will this return, or how do I keep it from not coming back ?

Other than removal of the Bartholin's gland there's no way of guaranteeing a cyst won't return, unfortunately.

Hot compress I think is what they advise, lots of Bartholin's go on their own. The issue is when they become infected, they're not to touch or painful. I've had a procedure called marsupialisation to cut out the cyst, it leaves a permanent "pocket" to allow it to not build up as easily.

I get a fair few of these. The thing that always helps mine is multiple baths. One every day if you can manage, and to gently squeeze it in the warm water. (Sorry if tmi). That always seems to clean it out.

Thanks all. Ah iv read this but doesn't seem like it has a head. It's a little painful but more so when sat down or stood and feels like there's something there eg like a tampon not in right ? It does feel a lottle stungy Also I am thinking about it more so maybe that's why it's worse it's just getting me down 😪

Yes, baths. As hot as you can bear and gentle squeezing with a hot cloth.

Hey OP, I had one of these cysts when I was pregnant with my second child, it wasn’t fun. I don’t remember much as it was overall a very shitty pregnancy but was seen by gyno, who couldn’t find it-it seemed to appear and disappear at times. Anyway-it went away once my son was born and he’s now 9yo.
