Ovarian cyst big enough to feel?

Talk me down! I have a history of ovarian cysts, I’ve had two removed surgically on separate occasions and was due to have a third removed but fell pregnant and was removed from the waiting list. My baby is nearly 2 now so it’s been a while, I assume it’s still there.

For a few weeks I’ve had awful lower back pain and right lower quadrant pain. I’ve been worried it’s something more serious and have an ultrasound in a few weeks time but today I was lying down because of how sore it was and with my fingers I could feel a lump, just above my pubic bone slightly to the right. It hurts to touch (well, poke).

I know no one can tell me what it is and I’ll just have to wait for the appointment but has anyone had an ovarian cyst that they could actually feel? I also have anxiety so prone to thinking worst case scenario 😩

Hopeful bump because I’m still catastrophising!

I couldn't feel mine to touch, but if I was lying prone or on my back and I coughed, I would get a excruciating pain in exactly the place you have described.

I have seen mine on a scan and then they've gone by the next scan, but I think I must just get them on and off.

Assuming you don't have private medical or can afford a private scan? You'd be in within the week if you could which would be more reassuring.

Good luck.

If you were due to have it removed then go back to the GP and ask what the next step should be, did you have paperwork from the hospital, can't you contact them?

I went back my gp about it and she referred me for the ultrasound to see if it was still there, she wanted that done before she referred me to gynae.

Oh that's good,at least the ball is rolling.

Not sure if this is relevant but I can feel my fibroid when I'm lying down (and full bladder). It was disturbing at first but post MRI and gyn chat apparently I don't need to do anything. Do get yours checked out.

I had a ovarian cyst that I couldn't feel but I'm not a size 10 😂
The pain was acute and very specific I just knew it was a cyst but it took me 18 months of going back to the doctors and they kept saying it probably wasn't and wouldn't refer for a scan
Eventually ended up in A&E and having Fallopian tube and ovary removed
So don't be fobbed off by the hospital or gp

Thanks all, have been trying to keep busy. I phoned the ultrasound dept and asked for any cancellations so they’re going to call me if any come up. I can still feel it though!
