Period despite contraceptive pills, in the middle of the pack

Hi all,

I recently got on the contraceptive pill to help with some bad flooding during my periods and acne which I've had for 25 years.

The first pill, Drovelis (drospirenone + estetrol) slightly reduced my periods but did nothing for my skin so after a couple of months my doctor changed them to pure drospirenone. It helped with the skin but I now have problems with my periods.

Since taking the previous pill, my period started appearing not in the placebo window but after about 8 days of taking the new pack of active pills. No period at all in the placebo window. It is not spotting, it is a proper period with cramps and a varying amount of blood depending on the day. Bang on in the middle of my taking the active pills.

My doctor says it's normal. I don't think so. I don't trust the contraceptive effect of the pill either since it is clearly unable to stop my periods.

Has anyone had something similar? I have been on the new pill 4 months now, my period has not reduced or changed in any other way so it is not getting better.
