Cushings disease

My consultant has my test results for cushings that we did back in April but I won't get them until August and I'm at my wits end over it. I already have PCOS and that diagnosis crushed me, so I dread to think this will be added to the mix. My GP seemed almost convinced that I have it when we discussed the consultation I had in hospital.

I know it's usually classified as rare, but does anyone else have cushings? Or know anyone who has/had it?

If so, what treatment did you take and how did it go? I know treatment can depend on the cause (I'm asthmatic and have quite a bit of steroid medication so mine is likely caused because of that)

I know my consultant will discuss all the options with me if/when the time comes but I just want to gather some info to prepare myself

Any advice appreciated

Hi, sorry you didn’t get any replies, I guess that shows cushings is rare. My daughter (21) is currently waiting for test results.

like you she already has a diagnosis of PCOS. Her endocrinologist has asked her to come off the pill whilst testing is going on as the pill would interfere with the results.

daughter had an extensive list of blood tests that narrowed the cause of her problems down . On the results of the first round of bloods she had more bloods taken last week. We know her cortisol is high. She took a tablet the night before the blood test which in theory should lower her cortisol but if it didn’t that would indicate Hypercortisolism.

consultant apt booked for 8th December.

How are you doing?
