Does length of time on pill impact return of normal cycles?

This is a very niche question, but wondering if anyone can help!

I was taking the contraceptive pill (Yasmin) for just three months and quickly remembered why I stopped using it. Constant bleeding, moody, tired etc etc. Stopped taking it over a month ago and still no period, although I've had a lot of hormonal symptoms this last month and I think I ovulated?!

I assumed that only taking it for a short time would mean it would be less likely to muck up my cycles. Is there any logic to this, or could it take ages for my period to return? I'm usually 24/25 days and it's now over 32 days since my last period and since I finished the pack.

I'll be taking a pregnancy test in the morning but I'm just wondering if anyone has any insights or reassurance? An unplanned pregnancy would be a disaster for us right now (two DC aged 4 and 18 months. Definitely not intending to have a third!) and the chances are next to none anyway, but just trying not to panic!
