Weird brown mark on 1 year olds scalp. What is it?

Noticed this on our 15 month olds head. She scratches her head quite a lot. Google has been no use and just shows images of cradle cap.

any ideas?

I can’t see it very clearly. If it’s weeping it could be impetigo

I think it’s just a freckle kind of thing. A patch of pigment? A doctor will give you best advice.

Keep her out of the sun and in a sun hat when out & about.

If you are not happy with GP advice, ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

I’m not 100% sure but it looks nothing like the pictures online. It’s only 1 small area.

Cradle cap

It's 100% cradle cap if you wet it and rub some shampoo on you can easily scratch it gently of or buy special shampoo

@BabyEl it's because your baby has more hair. Tends to just happen in small patches around hair follicles. My kids have all had it like this. Used specialist shampoo on it and went quite quickly
