Extended Breastfeeding and late period.

Hi everyone! I breastfed my LO for 24 months, at the end it was only really one short feed a day. We weaned fully around 4 weeks ago. My period returned 6 months pp and has been fairly regular ever since - between 28-35 days which is normal for me.

It’s been a busy month with birthdays and end of term, but I noticed it felt like it’d been a long time since I had my period. I checked my calendar and, if I’ve logged it right, I’m now on 41 days! That’s unheard of for me!

I did a pregnancy test yesterday despite not actually having sex this cycle and it was predictably negative. Think I had to see the line to set that idea aside!

Has anyone who’s period returned while bf’ing found a change in them when weaning? Hoping to start ttc soon and this is freaking me out!

I'd say it must be normal as the hormones will be adjusting themselves. I'd give it a few months to settle in without the bf.

You'll produce milk for a long time. When. I bf my dd to 2 years I could still produce milk for almost a year afterwards!
