Could this be related to the menopause?

I don't think I have nay other perimenoause symptoms.

But my period isn't due till 1st July and for the last week I've had period like cramps.

Definitely not ovulation cramps which I usually get, but womb cramps.

This has been happening for about 3/4 months. Am 38.5 years old.

Some herbs cause contractions. Are you drinking fruit teas?

Nope.

Did you get any answers to this? I'm experiencing the exact same I am 36.
I had X2 c sections 1.5 yrs and 3 yrs ago. I don't know if this is relevant.
Pain and cramps for a over a week before any sight of a period.
It's becoming a worry as I don't want to spend nearly half of every month either being on or feeling like I'm on my period.

I have endometriosis and I get pain for a week before and a week after my (7-8 day) period. In effect, I’m in pain for most of the month but I’m nearly 49 so hoping I won’t have periods for too much longer….. It’s worth getting it checked out with a GP.

@Finishingoff that's interesting. I felt an inclination that I may have endometriosis pre kids as I had a lot of bloating, pain etc. I was also ttc for 3 years before having ivf for dc1.
I might need to speak to Dr. Although when having fertility treatment I remember I mentioned endometriosis to the dr as a potential cause of infertility and they said they could do a laproscopy but any endometriosis they found they would cut out including any on my fallopian tubes they would just take them away there and then.
Is it just a case of living with the pain unless you take these measures?

I’m a really bad example because I’ve had endo since I was 19 (that’s when I was diagnosed) and I’ve never had treatment for it….. However, I think you were given poor advice there because of you said you didn’t want your fallopian tubes removing, they wouldn’t do it. Also, it sounds like that comment was made without even knowing if there was any there, and therefore scaring you. Someone more knowledgeable will be along I’m sure, but I’d really advise speaking to a GP to rule it out or in. Life’s too short to be in pain so much - don’t be like me!
