Periods after baby

Hi everyone just a random post to try and see if anybody else has had a similar situation. My last period was 09/03/2023 for 6 days and I’ve literally had nothing since. I don’t even know if I’m ovulating or not. I’ve been to the GP who ordered bloods to check for various things and they’ve all come back clear. I also explained I was scared that it was possibly perimenopause but my FSH has came back saying it’s not that. I’m completely stumped. I’m only in my early 30s and my son is now 9 month old. My GP has suggested if there is still nothing next month then to try the OCP to regulate them. I’ve taken so many pregnancy tests and all are negative so it’s 100% not that. Any advice would be great.
Son is not breastfed.

Did you breastfeed at all?
Is your body weight low?

My periods didn’t come back until 10 months postpartum although I was combi feeding.

Sounds like your hormones haven't regulated back into their usual cycle yet. I think it can take some time even if you're not breastfeeding.

Just wanted to say that OCP won't regulate your cycle it will just create a fake one and not solve anything in terms of what's causing your periods to not happen.

Moonlightsonatas: I breastfed for 4 months then my supply dropped to the point of literally nothing so he was formula fed from then on. My body weight and bmi is fine.

Kitty1993: When I got my blood test everything literally come back as fine and that’s what is confusing me because I thought it was possibly my hormones but my levels seem normal according the results. I’m not too keen on taking the OCP if I’m completely honest because I know that’ll most likely result in the problem but rectifying at all. Currently I’m on cycle day and this has never happened before even after my first child. I know every pregnancy and healing is different but my periods have always kinda been 28-33 day cycles and I’ve never had an issue until now.

The blood test for fish is 2 tests 6 weeks apart, have you had the second?

TheLurpackYears · 19/06/2023 20:05

Fish...?FSH.

Bumbles20 · 19/06/2023 20:36

TheLurpackYears: I’ve had both and both came back as they should. Definitely not in perimenopause. Thyroid is fine also.

TheLurpackYears: The tests were done after no period in April as I’d seen the GP before that for my smear etc and was having longer cycles so it’s been ongoing for a while.
