Pain in one breast

For the last month I have been experiencing pain in my right breast, not sure how to explain, like PMT soreness I suppose, sort of like a "pulled muscle" pain- if I sit still I won't feel it but will if I take a deep breath or stretch. It has intensified now my period has arrived, although completely manageable, nuisance, not impacting my life in anyway except to cause me concern.

I've felt the area throughly and can't feel anything untoward.

As it has continued the whole month I will call my GP this week (I was trying to see how it was over a cycle) but has anyone experienced this? I know breast pain is unusual in serious issues but hard to not worry (we have breast cancer in the family, genetic kind, but not close enough relation to me to require mammograms).

Hey... I had/have this. I'm 48, on HRT. Started at my last period (first since change to HRT regime). My boobs felt like when I was pregnant, swollen, achey. Not a typical period symptom for me either.

I had clear discharge out of my left. I assumed it was down to hormones as it coincided with the period. I waited to see if it would revert back when my next cycle of progesterone was started. It didn't so I made an appointment with my gynaecologist (post Googling 😖, 100% don't recommending) Between making the appointment and seeing him there was blood mixed with the clear discharge. I have a thread on here about that. I had a mammogram & ultrasound which came back okay but there is one area in the left that they want to do a biopsy on.

Anyway.. your description of the low level pain resonated. For a while both were the same but now I have the same as you describe in the offending boob.

Maybe worth getting it checked? I also could not feel any lumps or bumps and my gp also did a breast exam and couldn't feel anything concerning. I dint remember the technical names of the things but cysts and 'lesions' were mentioned. It's a big, grumpy looking lesion that is getting the further investigation. And will be monitored further with another mammogram in 6 months providing the biopsy is all clear.

All that extraneous detail was likely unnecessary but please get ANYTHING out of the ordinary checked straight away.

I've had something similar for at least the last 10 years - usually only notice it at night in bed. I think it's just a completely normal thing as we get older - random aches and pains do happen.

Huge apologies for not responding to your kind replies sooner. Hope all is ok @ElementalFuture? I went to the GP and she couldn't feel anything, said she would refer me to the clinic if I'd like though, I declined and sure enough within a couple of days the pain stopped 🙄 I feel like I'm always waiting for something to go wrong, alas that's a thread for another day. Thanks again Flowers

This is so weird but I’ve literally posted almost the same post but about my left breast!
are you on any hormone meds at all? I wonder if this may have caused some strange changes but will still call my GP early next week.

I’m glad you are feeling better and the pain went away
