copper coil problems

Hello ladies, I’m a bit stuck here. This might be a bit TMI 🙈
This year I decided I’m going to get the copper coil inserted as after I gave birth the pill gave me migraines/made me gain weight and I couldn’t deal with the hormones anymore. I got my IUD in January, my periods have been 3 days longer and a bit heavier but nothing I can’t deal with, but I have quite a lot of discharge going on. I’ve been going to the clinic to check for thrush/bv etc and every time the tests come back clean, this is my 5th month on it and it hasn’t stopped. They gave me the bv treatment gel that’s meant to fix your ph balance, I take it for 3 days and everything’s fine but of course the discharge comes back again after a week.
Anyone experienced this? Does it go away, can I do anything to stop it?

I’ve had the copper coil since 2016, into my second device.
The first one I had was great no issues.
Second one I had put in around 3 years ago now and like you suffer from discharge etc.
It feels like I get monthly thrush to be honest, this has been going on for a year!
Doctor sent swabs which came back apparently clear, although when she visually examined me said she could clearly see thrush. Makes no sense…
I’ve booked in to have the coil taken out in a few weeks anyway because I feel like my body needs chance to clear up this issue…..
