Endometriosis newly diagnosed

My daughter has been told following an internal scan that she has Endometriosis and fibroids. This was quickly diagnosed compared to many I have read about, I was expecting her to havetopush for more tests. She has always suffered but particularly the last 12 months, when the pain is most of the time not just around her periods. They have suggested the mini pill to see if the pain reduces if she stops her periods. Has that worked for other women? I feel for her, she is only 23. Any advice for her on this new diagnosis?

The mini pill is just a sticking plaster really and will not address the endo and fibroids already present. Have they not mentioned surgery?.

I would advise her to see a gynaecologist at a BGSE Centre if she is not under the care of a gynae. Some of them are far better than others and she needs to find a good surgeon.

She should also educate herself about endo and fibroids. Endometriosis UK is a good website Ending endometriosis starts by saying it | Endometriosis UK (endometriosis-uk.org)
