Cream for dryness / itchyness?

Has anyone found a good cream or natural treatment to sooth vaginal dryness and itchiness?

I’ve suffered with thrush on and off my whole life, and never had much help from the NHS. When I get thrush I treat it, but I’m pretty certain I’m getting it in the first place because of having very sensitive skin down there, that’s often dry and itchy. I’m approaching 40 so from what I’ve read, it’s only going to get worse from here! I think instead of just treating with canesten once I get thrush, I need to find a cream I can use to prevent me getting it in the first place. But I’m also really cautious to put anything on the skin down there incase it makes it worse!

Does anyone have any advice? I’m pretty certain trying to get help with this from my GP would be a painful process that I don’t have much time for! And I don’t want to be prescribed steroids.
