Post C-section Bleeding

I am 7 weeks post C-section and have had very minor bleeding, every day pretty much, since the op. I was expecting this for the first 2-6 weeks but it is still happening. Only today it has become much heavier, more like my period. I am breast feeding and wasn't expecting my periods to start yet but more concerned it's still lochia bleeding. Any advice? Is this normal? Is it still lochia bleeding or have my periods started?

Hey hun,

Have you spoken to your GP? The same thing happened to me and I'm currently still bleeding at week 15. I've had a Ana done and now waiting an mri and surgery. They found fluid near my c section scar so far.

Hi Lolalu09
Thanks so much for your reply. I'm still bleeding now but it has slowed down again. I did mention it to the doc when I took my daughter in for an appointment and he said not to worry that bleeding 6-8 weeks was normal although I am over 8 weeks now. My post partum check isn't for another 12 days.
Did you have any other symptoms, pain, discomfort or anything?

Hey hun,

No other symptoms, just bleeding. I had an internal and external scan done which showed fluid. I haven't seen much online about it xx

I was still bleeding lightly, also mainly lochia at 8 weeks I then developed painful cramps and couldn't stand without serious pain. I see much health visitor that day for my daughter 8wk check and she told me to go straight to A&E. Turned out I had retained placenta and sepsis! Get checked out just to be safe
