Anyone else had unexplained vaginal bleeding?

I'm 31, and my period ended ended a week ago. Yesterday I woke up and I was bleeding again! It's not terribly heavy, but it's consistent with no clots. Mild cramps and headache - just like a really light period, really.

GP fobbed me off because it's a 1 off due to my age - I was ready to insist on actually being seen and examed, but she said because I'm actively bleeding they wouldn't be able to see anything in an exam. Going to try again next week.

Has anyone else had this and what did it turn out to be? I had a smear last year and all normal.

@Summerscomin did you ever hear anything from your biopses?

My bloods came back normal in everything except iron (big shocker). The gp has made a phone appointment to discuss on the 31st May. No mention of bleeding, so it's being totally ignored. I've completely missed my period but have had a negative pregnancy test. So I guess after almost 20 years of being impeccably regular, one cycle it's decided to just... change to a 5 day cool down instead of three weeks? I'll see what happens when my next period comes.

I finally got a letter on Saturday @DragonbornMum to say the biopsies still just showed HPV- this is good apparently but I still need to have extra smear in July.
I also had an internal scan which has found an endometrial polyp- I'm guessing that's causing the bleeding! Awaiting appointment for a hysteroscopy now.
Did the GP not want to follow it up? Seems odd to be regular as clockwork for 20yrs then go haywire - is peri maybe on the cards? Sorry can't scroll back to see how old you are/if you've said!

Ah, that's good that you have an answer! Hope you get sorted okay.

GP seemed convinced that my bleeding was from an STD (lol: when would my husband have time). Totally unbothered. I feel fine in myself, so I'll keep monitoring my cycle and hopefully have more info by the time my next appointment rolls around

@DragonbornMum your gp sounds most odd! Be interesting to see what your next period does- if it's weird will you go back/see a different doctor?!
An answer of sorts, I just hope the appointment/treatment comes through soon. I've been bleeding for about a month now and literally feel like life is draining from me, so fatigued. Got some spatone to try and get my iro levels up a bit, guessing that the problem 😴
