Breast pain from carrying toddler

As the title says really - I have noticed a few times that one of my boobs is quite sore. It's on the side that I typically carry my 2YO, so I'm wondering if it's happening because of that (or if I should get it checked). Has anyone else had this happen?

Hi, I’ve just been searching the same thing as I have the same problem. I have a nearly three year old who’s getting pretty heavy now, and I always pick her up on my left side.when I pick her up she kind of squished my boob if you know what I mean, and if she’s ever slept in bed with me she’d be constantly elbowing and kicking me with my left boob often the target! I definitely feel like I have muscle strain on that side just my boob is a bit tender. I feel like it’s quite a coincidence but was also a bit worried. How are you doing now?

Hi! Mine keeps going away and then returning after I've carried her again for a while - so I definitely think that's what's causing it. I'm so surprised no one else seems to report it happening though (until you!)
My DH keeps nagging me to go to the dr about it so I probably will just for peace of mind. What about you?

I have exactly the same symptoms...always after a long weekend of carrying the 2 year old. I went to the Dr about a year ago and they said there are no lumps so they assumed it was just muscular. I am going to try to get a scan. I was just wondering if either of you had any luck? All the best!

I had this issue. Very heavy toddler that used to drop her weight if she was having a paddy and you had hold of her. I also had a very heavy hoover that I was using daily.I did get it checked though just in case.

Thank you! I also threw the hoover around a bit too excessively on Friday. Booked in for a scan to be sure!

I literally just googled this. One of my breasts has suddenly got sore and i wondered if it may be from carrying my toddler or him elbowing/kneeing me in the chest while he is generally galavanting about. Did your scan go okay? Did they give any more of an insight. Might mention to my GP if it doesn't go away.

The scans identified a fibroadonema (a benign lump) which they have taken a biopsy of to be absolutely certain and I should get the results on Monday.

Fibroadonema is quite common for my age group and is linked to hormonal breast pain.

My recommendation would be to get checked thoroughly because either you get reassurance and can relax or you get the treatment you need.

I hope this helps xxx
