Spotting before period

According to the app I use, my period should be due tomorrow (or maybe Monday). I've been spotting since this morning and have had some cramping but there's still no sign of my period actually starting. The past week I've had tender breasts and been incredibly tired and irritable - although that could be due to week two of the Easter holidays! I do feel more stressed than usual!

This has happened every few months for the last year or so (maybe two or three other times?). Is it normal? Perhaps a bit of a hormonal imbalance? To be fair, I have felt a bit more off than usual.

Also, is there anything "natural" I can do just to keep my hormones balanced as I've definitely noticed PMS getting worse the older I get (I'm 33), even if the actual periods and cramping generally get better!

I really recommend a book call the period repair manual. Loads of great information about periods and how to help them.

Magnesium is the wonder supplement for periods.

I had this starting from late 30s. I went to the gp to get checked out and they did a quick check of my cervix (not as bad as a smear!). Everything looked clear so the gp said it is just something that often happens as we get older.

So I would probably go and get it checked, but it is probably nothing to worry about.
