Mammogram callback to have 3D mammogram left breast

Just wanted to know if anyone has had to do similar? Nothing else on letter like biopsy etc. I can’t find a noticeable lump but obviously worrying now.

I had a call back after routine mammogram, the letter just said to go to breast clinic for a further mammogram. The appointment was for 2 pm. At first I saw a nurse who told me there was something on my right breast that needed further investigation, so I had the 3D mammogram. Then I waited again and was called in and got shown the lump on the screen. I then had a biopsy and told to return in a week, although the consultant said she was quite confident the lump wasn’t cancer, but they still had to send the sample off. I had a phone call on the morning of the appointment to say biopsy was fine and I didn’t need to attend the appointment. It is worrying and I can honestly say, it was awful waiting for the results.

My mum got a call back, it was cancer and wouldn’t have been identified unless she’d had mammogram, she was told it was not life-threatening and she was given option of lumpectomy or mastectomy. No chemo or radiotherapy was needed.

Hi thank you for your replies. I had a 3D mammogram on 17th April still not heard anything back and I have chased. Apparently it’s not been looked at yet. Can I assume given the time frame of now nearly 3 weeks nothing is wrong?

The screen you saw was an ultrasound I imagine- from my experience they are a quite good at telling if it's likely to be cancer from that - however things do sometimes get lost in system so I would chase just in case
