Does this sound like endometriosis?

My period returned at the end of last year after having my son in 2020 and still breastfeeding. Over the months my period got heavier and more painful than ever before, then I started to bleed from the backside 🍑 quite heavily during my period, in fact sometimes it feels like I’m ONLY bleeding from there, almost like having my period through the wrong hole 🙈 so far I’ve had a colonoscopy and they ruled out anything sinister, I’ve had blood tests, awaiting results, and I’m due an internal scan as well, waiting on that.

Today I am ovulating and I’m in so much pain from my chest right down to my knees, but especially my stomach, bum and thighs. Does this sound like it could be endometriosis?

It can’t be ruled out. Any symptoms that are cyclical in nature and or get worse up to and during menses should be checked to see if endometriosis is present

It’s usually diagnosed through a keyhole surgery op called a laparoscopy. Blood tests and internal ultrasound scans do not always detect endometriosis because the deposits are so very small.

Do keep a daily pain and symptoms diary if you do not already do this. Seek a referral to a gynae via your GP however waiting times for gynae on the NHS are miles long so if you can go privately I would do so
