Talk to me about a hysteroscopy

Hello! I’ve been referred for a hysteroscopy, date has come through after only 2 weeks so that’s put me into a bit of a tizz. I have adenomyosis and very heavy painful periods so the consultant wants to take a sample of the lining and make sure everything is ok and nothing sinister going on, which he was quite confident there isn’t and it’s just the adenomyosis but I always think the worst! He also wants me to have the coil as he thinks this will help! Has anyone been though this and have any advice? My pain threshold is very low despite 3 kids and they told me to take 2 paracetamol and an ibuprofen before 🤣😁

I had one in in Dec for a uterine biopsy and a polyp removed from my cervix. I thought I had a fairly high pain threshold but it was absolutely awful, medieval. They kept offering to stop and I just said, with tears running down my face to just get it done as I wasn't coming back for more. I was offered nothing in the way of pain relief. A whiff of gas and air would have made a world of difference! Then I never ever got a result from the biopsy as they lost my samples. Offered to do it again - ha! That will be a big fat no thanks.
