Breast lump

Hi all,

on Thursday I found a 5p sized lump in my right breast- felt very round and movable, can pinch it between my two fingers and it feels just under the skin- I went and saw my GP who said she thinks it felt like a cyst but would refer me under the 2 week breast referral to be sure as it was quite firm (to me it feels almost rubbery).

Not sure what anyone can say or do to make me feel better but I’m just out of my mind with worry. I’m 31 next month and keep looking at my daughter thinking about all the ‘what ifs’ - I have got myself into a state.

Any words of wisdom would be hugely appreciated right now ❤️

Hi all,

so an update: went to the hospital, the first nurse I saw had a feel and said she thought it was a cyst but she couldn’t drain it without an ultrasound as I have breast implants. Waited only about 5 mins for the ultrasound so then I laid there while the nurse (sorry- not sure what their full job title is with these things!) had a roam about, it took a long time so I started really panicking. Eventually I asked her if there was anything to be worried about to which she replied ‘nothing worrisome but quite a lot to explain’ so she finished up and explained that one of my implants has ruptured and that’s what the lump was, literally a lump of silicone! Apparently there’s some more floating around the same boob (other one is fine) so i’ll be having an MRI in the next few weeks and a chat with the breast surgeon where most likely, they will remove them.

I only had them done in 2019 and through Harley Medical so I’m quite shocked but ultimately, so relieved!!! I feel like I’ve one the lottery to be honest which is probably a mad way to look at it but the sheer relief is blissful.

Anyway, sorry for the essay but wanted to give you all a full update as you all took the time to write some really positive and uplifting messages when I was in desperate need of it so thank you so so much!

So pleased for you. Bit bad it happened though.
I am sitting with a bruised breast having had a cyst drained yesterday. Nothing suspicious they say. Had brief panic this morning as can feel small lump still in cyst area but rang clinic who were very reassuring. I got the impression I should stop prodding for a while... Easier said than done!

WOW @Amae I didn't expect that update!
How good that you went to get it checked out though so they can remove the implant! And I'm soooo happy for you that it was nothing more sinister. Do you know how it ruptured? My friends ruptured but it was because a bit of furniture fell on her chest. This was years ago though so I don't know if they are made differently now.

Poor you! I hope you get it sorted quickly!!

So glad it wasn’t anything sinister- but gosh what a pain!
