Leaking after hysterectomy

I had a lap/vaginal hysterectomy around 5 days ago (also excising endo at same time). I have been able to wee okay since my catheter was removed and am able to get/appear to empty a full bladder (and had a bladder scan before coming home.

I have however, noticed I am leaking small amounts of urine. Now panicking I am incontinent forever! Is some leakage normal at this stage or should I be calling gynae ?

I didn’t have this issue but I’d speak to pharmacy or GP to check for a UTI first. Catheterisation can result in UTI sometimes & that can cause a bit of incontinence.
Have you been doing PFE?
Wishing you a speedy recovery from your op.

Hi, I had some very minor leaking for several months following my abdominal hysterectomy last year. It went. In fact it must have stopped a while ago as this post reminded me it happened in the first place! I would only leak after doing a wee though, like I’d wee then wipe then when I stood up I’d leak a little. If you’re leaking at other times it may be worth getting checked for a UTI as the pp said.

I had gynea surgery a few months ago and had a cathetar after.

I had lots of accidents for several days after (and needed tena pants) but after about a week it had greatly improved. I simply couldnt feel if my bladder was full and would leak before i realised i needed to go. Also if i stood up i would leak

I had several small / medium accidents in hospital afterwards but no one was concerned about it and it sorted it self out pretty quickly
