Hi ladies!
So I've been on marvelon (combined) for years now and never had any issues. Recently though, if I miss even one pill I'll start bleeding, whereas before it'd take 4 days following the end of a pack, which is very inconvenient as you can imagine. I also take pills back to back for 3 months at a time. I'm currently on month 3 and was planning for a period at the end of this pack.
I missed a pill midway through my pack over the weekend by accident and my period started yesterday. I've continued taking my pill, hoping it would stop but it seems to be forcing it's way through. My blood today is a deep purple, which has never happened before. I've googled it and it says it's caused by high estrogen which can lead to a number of issues such as endometriosis. I feel it's important to note that before I was on the pill I got checked and I have cysts on my ovaries and irregular cycles (no hormonal imbalances at that time though).
I'm really worried there's a bigger underlying issue I need to get sorted by a doctor but it's impossible to register at any around me at the moment (I am moving next month though thank GOD). Does anyone have any experiences with this, positive or negative, and can shed some light on why I'm getting consistent bleeding between periods and why my blood is now a concerning colour of purple?
