Can HPV mess with periods

Hi,

A recent smear test result has revealed I’m HPV positive.

Can having this be the cause of why my periods are all so messed up? I intend to ask my GP but getting hopeful now I can some help for the lady probs and that it can’t all be down to spinal cord injury/shock.

The GP couldn't tell me much about HPV as wasn't a thing back when she had smears...

But they have now agreed to do an ultrasound finally for my numb tummy and 1 day periods when they decide to show.
