Looking for some reassurance really, or if anyone has had anything similar. I've been a little sore "down there" (like thrush) for the past 14 days so my GP referred me to a sexual health clinic to see a GP there. GP wanted to have a good look, and asked when my last cervical screening was and if there were any concerns raised (it was over 2 years ago). GP said my cervix is looking abnormal but could be down to the pregnancy, but has referred me for a colposcopy appointment at the hospital (waiting times are looong so will probably be a couple of months until I'm seen). I'm 29 weeks pregnant, hoping for a normal birth and slightly health conscious anyway. Does a cervix just look a little different when pregnant?

I can only answer in that I recently was told by my GP that I had what's known as an ectropion on my cervix. Not pregnant but been on the pill a while and more common in those taking pill or during pregnancy she said. Essentially it's harmless and where cells that usually sit inside cervix grow on outside. I had colposcopy and had it removed as it was causing me bleeding. Had no issues since. I think doctors just have to refer for anything that looks different to be on the safe side but try not to worry too much, especially if you're up to date with your smears
