Lump on throat. Cancer?

Hi

I have a dr’s appointment at 11am today however my anxiety is eating me up inside.

I have a lump at the back of my throat, it is causing discomfort to swallow. I was treated for tonsillitis before Xmas but the pain seems to have returned and when I looked in my throat I noticed this red lump. Pic attached.

has anyone experienced anything like this?

I am 27.. so thinking I’m a little young for cancer in my throat.

I've had similar before. It was an abcess called a "quinsy" and was incredibly painful. I just needed a course of antibiotics and it went away.

I wouldn't worry until you have been to the doctors.

could just be a cyst op, I've had something like that that was a cyst.

Hi I saw your post and have something very similar. My throat is sore and I have earache. Had this for 4 weeks. After 2 visits to GP they have put me on a 2 week referral. I have the appointment next Thursday and I am making myself ill Googling and thinking the worst. What did your throat turn out to be? My pics are attached. Ps I have no tonsils as they were removed 30 years ago I am 47

First off.. please don’t panic! 😊 9/10 referrals to the hospital turn out to be not cancerous! I really struggled with health anxiety after having my little girl and that reassured me so much knowing that it’s most likely nothing.

I went to the dr’s about 4 different times regarding this and had a full set of bloods carried out. My bloods came back absolutely fine and as did my swabs. Therefore no further action was taken as I’m not experiencing any pain anymore and haven’t done for months. My tonsil is still swollen and looks exactly the same as the pic I took above.. but dr reassured me that as it’s not growing any bigger it’s just what my tonsils look like.. since having a bad case of tonsillitis which just wouldn’t go at Christmas that scarred my tonsil.

If it was cancer it would have grown in the last 6 months I’ve not had pain for.

If I experience pain I’ll of course go back but I did have the full rounds of blood tests and I’m sure anything serious would have been picked up.

try not to panic! I know it’s so hard when you’re counting down the days until the appointment. I felt the same when I had a referral to the breast clinic last year. I cried every single day. But please remember it’s most likely nothing but you are doing the right thing to get checked out. Xx

Hiya, thanks for your message. My anxiety today hit the roof! I’d cleaned the house before my appointment today! I get like that when I feel stressed.
so I saw the maxiofacial consultant and he had a look at my throat. He referred me to ENT and for an MRI scan. I ve got 2 visual pea sized lumps next to my epiglottis they kind of wrap around it. I am obviously I’m a panic, but just trying to keep myself busy. My voice is affected as it gels strained. I’ll update you soon xx

I have had this lump/growth since July started small has got this size. Anyone seen this before ?

It was nothing to worry about after all that. They are Polyps in my throat. I can have them removed but for now I’m just leaving them x

Mouth cancer?
Anyone have any idea what this is? It’s like a yellow spot or patch? Ive tried googling and worried myself that it’s cancer. Pic attached

I had same did u find out what it is.mine is a painless bumb like growth and some times I feel something stuck in one side of throat

no but I saw a ent specialist and they said it was perfectly normal x

what was it , tell me , i have same condition ? and as i see you have bumps on back of your throat also, i have same , please tell me

I have the same. I get them after viral infections and they take weeks to go away.

The post immediately before yours was the OP saying it was perfectly normal.
