Do Benenden health care do mammograms?

I've noticed a change in my breast tonight. I'll call the go tomorrow tomorrow. I have Benenden health care but I've never used it.

If the gp refers me for a mammogram, should i mention i have Benenden?

No harm in mentioning it. But I think in most cases the Benenden cover only kicks in if you have been referred for a procedure and there is more than a 3 month wait. Chances are you’ll be seen within 2 weeks. All the best with the mammogram.

Was in the exact same situation. Tried using Benenden as the "two week wait" had reached 3 months (my DM had died of breast cancer earlier that year) however despite living by a major city I could only find one place to do it and they were fully booked.

Worth a try, but my experience shows they were completely useless.

If there is a concerning change, you should be seen within 2 weeks on the nhs. Depending on your age, ultrasound might be more helpful than mammogram. I wouldn't worry about involving private healthcare at this point. What if it covers you for scan but not for biopsy? More straight forward to just stick with nhs.
