Breast lump or something else?

Im 36 years old and have had 2 children, breastfed one of them. No hormonal contraception so have regular natural periods. Breasts are normally the same throughout the month with no changes but this weekend I found something I'm not quite sure about and whether it would be considered a breast lump or something else.

I can feel a lump a bit bigger than a pea under my breast. It doesn't move and it's hard. But it can only be felt when I'm laying down and my breast tissue has mostly moved out the way. Would be in my breast when standing or sitting but can't feel it.

Would this be classed as a breast lump or something else? It seems like it's on my chest wall.

May be worth mentioning there is an odd area the other side of the breast, it feels a bit more dense than the rest of the breast and something hard that feels like a grain of rice.

I'm thinking I probably need an urgent GP appointment don't I Confused

You need an urgent GP appointment - you don't need to start thinking about if it's chest wall or breast, they can do all that for you.

OP how are you doing now?

HealthConcerns · 15/05/2023 21:42

@Letsallgotothebeach I saw my GP who referred me to the hospital. Ultrasound & mammogram followed by breast biopsy. Came back as normal.

Thanks for asking

That’s great news everything came back normal. But did you found out what it was?
I just saw my OB and as he was examining my breasts everything was fine but I told him that ever since I had my baby 2 months after I felt my breasts weird. And when I had done my annual few days ago I let him know how I was feeling. He then felt my breast and he said he felt like a lymph node on my bottom left breast and that it was normal that, that had to do something about the milk but I didn’t understand him. So I will me getting. An ultrasound to be on the safe side.
