Heavy Bleeds After Sex & HPV Virus

Bit concerned...

I'm having bleeding after sex, which is heavy and almost like a period, except it lasts 1 day. The blood is fresh at first, then dark. Been happening since early Jan.

I was told I had HPV at my last smear test in June 2022.

I am due back in June for another smear test, to see if HPV has gone or not.

Should I just wait until my next smear, or is this something I should call DR about beforehand? I'm not sure if bleeding after sex is 'just a thing' that can happen if you have HPV? Hoping HPV is gone though by next smear though!

Will phone DR on Monday. The smear came back as HPV but no abnormal cells, if that's useful info at all. Thanks for replying @whyhere x

Def see the doctor about this. They will probably suggest a colcoscopy. Smears do not always pick up abnormal cells.

They also said a hormonal imbalance was picked up from an ectropion on my cervix. It had gone by the time I had a follow up. Hoping this is just another ectropion that is bleeding with sex.

I shouldn't speculate, I know 😖 DR will be phoned tomorrow AM.

Sorry for delayed response! I've had bloods and urine come back clear and have been referred to the hospital gynaecologist

Are they sending u for a colposcopy I'd def push for one

They've also referred me to haemotology after my lymph nodes swelled up. Hoping all is OK. The GP said bloods are urine were both OK though, but they've still referred me.
