Issue with follow up eye test appointment at Costco

I need some advice on follow up eye tests. It's been well within a year since my last eye test at Costco's and when I had my sight and contact lenses tests the optometrist said to me that my eye sight may be more prone to changing after child birth and to come back and get it tested or if I had an issue with contacts. I called them today as I've noticed a change with my eye sight when wearing contacts.
When I called and spoke to the receptionist, explaining my reason for calling I was told after she checked my notes that I only had my eye test 6 months ago and I'm not supposed to be back for another 2 years. I again explained to her the same thing that my eye sight had deteriorated and only when I mentioned that I had been pregnant and the optometrist told me to keep on top of it and only then did the woman change her tune. To be honest whether I had a baby or not I'd expect to still see an optometrist as there's been a change in my eyesight! Anyway I booked the appt, checked to see if it was covered in the payment of my last appointment as it was within a year since my test which I was told it would be and ended the call.

5 mins later the receptionist calls back to say she spoke to the resident optometrist (I had previously seen a lovely locum) and apparently I would have to pay for these tests again. From what I remember they were pretty expensive!! I argued my point again and the receptionist says she'll check again only to then call me a few minutes after to say that she'll have to speak to her manager on a different day as she's not in.

I'm actually pretty confused. Has anyone been through anything similar with eye sight change after birth or just even returning to your optometrist within a year? I had thought part of the bonus of going Costco was the customer service and from what I can remember I'm pretty sure most places cover you for any appointments relating to issues might have with your eye sight within a year of your prescription regarding re-testing.

My friend did. He was concerned and was not entitled to another free appointment. He's over 65, so gets the free. He just paid for it.

That wuss with a normal optician. Didn't even know Costco did them!
