Lump on labia

I have developed a lump under the skin on my labia majora. It's about the size of a 1p and tender to touch. It's near the join to my thigh. I can't see anything to suggest an ingrown hair. It's feel fairly solid and been there about a week or so. Any ideas ?

I had something similar last year. It got quite big and then disappeared quite quickly . This seems similar but has stayed consistent in size.

I'm 34 if that makes any difference . Will phone the GP tomorrow but did a search on google and nothing seems too obvious as to what it could be ??

Have a look at the online descriptions of a bartholin’s cyst, OP. I hope it clears soon - hot compresses help.

Thanks @HerculesMulligan . I had thought that but was unsure if this just occurred in the labia minora ? Will try a hot compress though.

Hi op. What was the outcome? I have similar? And I’m a wreck with worry xx

Snippit · 12/05/2023 19:57

It sounds like a bartholins cyst. I’ve had them a couple of times now, painful, but just like a big spot. Mine disappeared on their own after 2-3 weeks. If it’s worrying see your G.P or a sexual health clinic for an examination.

I've recently had something similar. Hot compress & sitz baths a few times a day for a couple of weeks. Good to see GP too though.

Fightingtobepositive · 12/05/2023 20:27

It’s not actually painful. It’s like a Harding lump under the skin. I noticed it yesterday. I will ring the docs next week. But I’ll be a wreck by then!

Sounds like batholin cyst. I get them and just keep up with the compresses and they do go. Really hot

Fightingtobepositive · 12/05/2023 20:51

Even if it’s firm and NOT painful? It’s right on the crease of the labia. I have health anxiety and so worried. Also a week after having laparoscopy to
