Difficulty peeing / having to push

I've never taken much more of how easy it is to pee until 1 month ago, I went to pee in the morning (so bladder full) and when I 'relaxed' no pee came out. I was using a menstrual cup so assumed there was some mix up / pressure in the wrong place so I removed it and then was able to pee. Totally forgot about it until the next period (yesterday) when this has happened again without using the cup. Now I've become paranoid and noticing every pee. I can no longer say whether I am peeing easily or having difficulty. How ever I do feel that the full 'gush' is missing even when my bladder feels full before I start (and my period is over).
Dr Google has provided ominous results so I thought I'd ask here. Anyone faced this? What could the reason be? I do plan to see my doctor but getting worried before I can do that.

A friend had this, it was a narrowing in her urethra, she got it sorted out fairly easily
good luck OP

@Wiglio - thank you for posting. Any idea if she needed surgery? I'm terrified by the idea of surgery!

It was a few years back but I don’t think she needed surgery, I think she had a procedure in outpatients. I recall she was much better, I would ask her on your behalf but I’m afraid we have fallen out😤

@PlainSkyr how did you get on? Feel I am having the same issues! Hope you found a remedy.

This could be due to overactive pelvic floor muscles

It's getting worse but I've gotten to the bottom of it. I have a medium/large fibroid which is possibly putting pressure on my bladder/pipe work and hence causing the problem. Learning to live with it (found that diaphragm breathing when peeing helps) as there is no reason to operate on the fibroid other than this.
Slightly queasy finding: when my bladder is full I can feel the fibroid as it gets pushed out of my tummy. Confused
