Exercise after colposcopy and biopsy?

Had a colposcopy today for suspected ectropion. Doctor said my cervix looks healthy but took a biopsy just for peace of mind as I was quite anxious. She also put some silver nitrate on the ectropion to hopefully get rid of it as it's been causing me irregular bleeding.

On the after care sheet it says to avoid strenuous exercise for 4-6 weeks. I have recently got back into running and have really been enjoying it, it's so frustrating to have to take such a long break and probably lose all my progress. Obviously I know I need to rest though and I will listen to my body. Just wondering if anyone else was told this and if they waited the full time? The nurse said I'll probably bleed for 7-10 days now but that if I feel okay after this it might be ok to ease back in. Just wanting to hear others experiences??

Thank you x

I would stick to the guidelines. Some women have bleeds that can be quite heavy when they work out.

Yes I found this frustrating both after biopsy and then the later LLETZ procedure on my cervix. After I finished bleeding I just did low impact exercise such as walking uphill on the treadmill (the 30,12,3 thing!) or weights (ie not jumping up and down)
