Hi there,
So I've had weak finger and toenails which break so easily + hair that breaks and feel horrible and is difficult to brush. For other reasons such as long covid, I've had so many blood tests

immunoglobulin A
Celiac disease
B12 - anaemia
Bones
Iron
Vit d
Esr
Full Blood count
Diabetes
Liver
Kidneys
Thyroid
Ovarian Cancer

All have come back clear.

I take pure collagen hyrdrolysate powder every day + vitamin d vitamin, turmeric and black pepper supplement and a multivitamin. I drink lots of water and eat a healthy diet (apart from on the weekend 😂)

Anyone ANY idea??

Sorry you are experiencing this, sounds very stressful! :( Perhaps long covid might be something to do with it.

How old are you - could it be hormonal/ menopause related?

Otherwise the usual lifestyle advice - how much do you exercise? - you say your weekend food is unhealthy so could that play a part - what do you eat on the weekend?

Hi!
I am 40. The GP has now said just don't dye your hair and didn't say much else about my nails etc. I walk a couple of miles a day so a hike workout five times a week. I have a takeaway once a week and just eat more on a Sunday but not necessarily unhealthy. I drink wine Sat and sun tho.

I had this despite taking collagen. I've really upped my gelatine and eggs (although it's only the white that helps nails I believe) and seen a massive improvement in a relatively short space of time.

I'll do this! Not a massive fan of eggs but I'm sure I can eat a boiled egg a day!
