Hello

I've recently been diagnosed with perioral dermatitis by a dermatologist, she was going to prescribe me some antibiotic cream and she gave me some moisturiser and some shampoo to use for a face wash, however I can't have the antibiotic cream until I am in my second trimester of pregnancy to be safe, I'm the meantime my skin seems to be getting so much worse, so she advised to use daktacort cream, which has antibiotic cream and steroid in there- I know if you suddenly stop using steroid cream it can make it so much worse, which it did- but I'm starting to use again as have no other choice! But does anyone know how to use this etc? I'm currently putting on twice a day. Hoping it improves! Really getting me down!! 😓

Thanks x

Did this clear up OP? I’ve been suffering with it for months now, also pregnant, and it just won’t go! Did the antibiotic cream work?

I'm in the same boat. Also pregnant though got it when I was really poorly in December. Creams from GPs didn't work for me. Had some improvement with sulphur soap and mask. Lots of tips on the Perioral Dermatitis Support Group on Facebook (not medical advice though, obviously).

Ps the advice on the group is to avoid all steroids
