Breast cancer pain - what does it feel like?

I have been having breast/chest pain for a week now. I think it is more in my chest - have had tests at hospital for heart etc and they said all ok and sent me on my way. The doctor was quite dismissive of the cause and when I mentioned could it be breast not chest he said to see my GP which I can’t until next month.
I am nervous now it is something going on in my breast - for contact I have very lumpy breasts and do have anxiety about this. So my question is for those who have experienced pain as their breast cancer symptom what did it feel like?

thanks in advance x

I should add that my pain is on the right side and feels deep like it is is near my ribs and goes through to my back - it eases on resting and is worse when I move. When I touch my breast I don’t feel any pain x

I dont know how helpful it is to ask this, as everyone is going to be very different, arnt they

Mastitis?
Do you have a temperature?
Have you had your lumps checked under the 2 week wait?

WorriedMillie · 15/02/2023 17:52

OP that really doesn’t sound like breast cancer 🌸
It’s good you got checked out re heart stuff, I’d just follow up with your GP when you can. I understand your anxiety though, I have breast cysts, which cause lumpy breasts 🌸

I've had breast cancer, and got to know a number of women who have also been affected. It's actually very rare for pain to be a symptom of breast cancer and your pain is far more likely to have another cause. But if you're concerned you really should prioritise seeing your doctor.

I was just trying to understand how it may feel.

Yes - I have been to the breast clinic many times - the last time was 3 weeks ago - so I am assuming that as it was so recent this is a completely different issue. I just know I have anxiety over this

Thanks @Growlybear83 and I hope you are well. The start of next month is the earliest I could get in to see them - I did get examined at the breast clinic for my lumps a few weeks ago and all was good so hoping this is unrelated but pain in this area does make me nervous

Thanks for your reply @WorriedMillie - it’s really tough when your breasts are lumpy and keep changing - it has made me really on edge
