My wife (36) has three IVF rounds (unsuccessful
) and during IVF had the first ever migraine of her life. The debilitating ones where she couldn't eat or drink, vomiting and needed a pitch black room.
The fertility doc said it was unfortunately not too uncommon because of the hormones. These have continued now since stopping all meds over a year ago. Once a month. PMS migraines we have worked out. The GP has prescribed sumatriptan which works very well and relieves the worst of it. But it's still taking my wife out of work for 2 days a month. The GP has refused to refer to neuro because the sumatriptan works to well that this is just a condition my wife has now and she is now a "migraine sufferer"
Is this right?? How can my wife be left to miss work for 2 days every month? I'm very naive to things like this so it might be normal practice I just thought a little more investigation would be done since they started later in life?
