Lower abdominal (Period type) pains but no period (have coil fitted)

I haven't had a period for over a decade due to having the Mirena coil fitted. Now I'm perimenopausal, on HRT (finally seems to be the right dose of patches) and using vagifem pessaries.

But for the last week or two I've had period pains (very low down in the abdomen) on and off in the day and every evening. They are moderately painful (the sort of thing when you feel like holding a hot water bottle on your stomach).

I'm a bit worried. Any ideas what might be causing it? Thanks.

Have you had a new coil fitted recently? I ask because I've been having similar issues recently too. I had another coil fitted in November though, and been having some on/off light bleeding since then which seems to be settling into a monthly type timeframe which is strange as over last 10 years of having a coil I've had very little in the way of periods. I started HRT too in September, so not sure if that's linked too, but last time I had a new coil fitted 5 years ago it was unsettled too for a while. I don't thing I've got the right dose yet though

Hi, no I've had my coil in a couple of years. No idea what these pains are.
