Private Mammogram cost?

I've discovered a lump in my breast. After waiting 2 (agonising) weeks just to get a telephone consultation with my GP, I've been advised that I now have to wait for an appointment for a mammogram. He has no idea how long I'll have to wait but suggested, if I can afford, to go private! Does anybody know roughly how much it will cost? Thanks in advance

I see you posted this on Sunday but I have some info that could help.

I actually rang up about the cost of private breast consults etc as I'm in a similar position to you and couldn't bare the wait for an appointment.

I'll attach the prices of a local private hospital near me. I'm in the midlands so depending on where you are, it could differ slightly.

@Ihateboris you shouldn’t have to pay for this! If you have found a lump the GP should refer you to the one stop breast clinic under the 2 weeks rule, where you’ll have all the tests you need quickly. All the best.

it's worth noting that you may also have to pay for ultrasound. I've been to a great breast clinic in Cardiff (mine turned out to be a cyst) but it had to be mammogrammed and ultrasounded.
