Exhaustion before period

My period has just returned after having DD2 9 months ago and I'm already fed up. Please allow me a self indulgent whinge.

I've remembered now how absolutely and completely exhausted I get in the days beforehand. I thought I was getting ill Friday and yesterday because I could barely keep my eyes open and ached all over. Don't know why it didn't occur to me that it was my period until it showed up this morning.

Does anyone else get absolutely exhausted in the days before their period? I don't think it's anaemia (would that cause tiredness before the period starts??), and I do take a multivitamin with iron anyway. Does anything help with what I assume is just hormonal fatigue? It feels like early pregnancy exhaustion. The thought of going back to feeling like this every month makes me want to cry (that may also be hormonal right now though!).

My exhaustion is actually much better - I'd actually forgotten about it until I saw this thread pop back up. I still get tired, but it's not to the point of barely staying awake.

But I now have very bad nausea with my period (which I started another moaning thread about last week 😂). Hopefully that disappears like the exhaustion!
