Hi;
please forgive me if wasting your time! I’ve had very very itchy skin on on breast for about a year. To the extent I’ve started using a Brillo pad on it (last week). Is this something to be concerned about? Can’t get drs appointment here easily.

If you tell the receptionist about having problems on one breast only you will be seen quickly and possibly referred to the Breast clinic. No need to panic but these things need checking sooner rather than later.

toastfiend · 04/02/2023 20:42

You do need to get it checked, OP. If nothing else, it sounds very uncomfortable for you.

You'll most likely be seen quickly for a breast issue. I got a same day appointment for a lump in my breast at the height of the pandemic. It turned out to be nothing. Please do call and request an appointment, though, always best to get these things checked.

You should get that looked at. You need to stop scrubbing at it as it will make it worse.

It's probably eczema, but it could be an infection. It depends where it is and what it looks like.

I had this on both breasts. I went straight to a women's health Center and they did a mammogram and an ultrasound and nothing. I think it's to do with peri-menopausal symptoms. I can't explain it.

TwigTheWonderKid · 04/02/2023 21:26

Chances are it's not sinister but itching can be a symptom of breast cancer. You need to make an appointment on Monday and you should be seen by a GP or Nurse Practitioner asap.

Ohdearnotagain76 · 04/02/2023 21:35

It can be sign of main things and totally agree you need to get it checked and treated. My breast itched and linked to menopause. Now on hrt and its improving. I'm mid/late 40's

Thank you all. I’m only 34 and regular periods so doubtful (hopeful) it’s not menopause as I want another baby. But cancer has been my huge concern. Will ring docs on Monday; was worried about annoying them so thank you for confirmation it was a valid concern x
