Lump on perineum

Sharereportbookmark · 02/02/2023 13:59

I have developed a lump on my perineum. It is about the size of a pea. It is skin coloured and doesn't look like it is infected but it is sore if touched, any idea what this could be?

I don't think it is a bartholin cyst, as it is more on my perinuem as marked in blue.

It's a bit too far to be a haemorrhoid so I'm out of ideas - off you go to the GP!

Swollen lymph node/gland?

Sharereportbookmark · 17/02/2023 21:33

@lumpys no update, I am due to see a gynae in a couple of weeks time doe something else so will mention it then but it has stopped hurting so I am wondering if it is just a skin tag that I caught when wiping myself so made it sore

is it a hard lump? mine too it is sometimes sore and engorged. but is the lump still there even though it stopped hurting? im bit afraid to visit my gyne

Do you cycle OP? I used to cycle to work years ago and would get tiny excruciatingly painful lumps from time to time.

My Dr thought it could be this - Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) - and I had a special wash to use and once had antibiotics but the wash helped. I changed my saddle too and bought padded cycling shorts which also helped.

Hope you get some answers soon and hopefully your GP will help!

@StillWearingMyXmasJumper I dont cycle but I do spend a lot of time sitting while at work. I will try to add a seat pillow hope it helps. Can you still recall what wash was prescribed?

Hi,
Did the lump ever go? I suffer with cysts and have one of these myself. Slightly tender but not too bothersome.

Sharereportbookmark · 20/12/2023 22:52

No it is still there. Gynaecologist said it was a skin tag. It hasn't caused me any further problems so I think I must have just caught it somehow and made it sore.
