Mirena coil- sweats?

Hi I had a mirena fitted during a hysteroscopy a week ago under general anasthetic.

Had no bleeding after this, just a bit of cramping the first 24 hours.

The last 48 hours I’ve been having night sweats and being generally sweaty and I am spotting very small amounts of brown/red discharge. I’m not in pain- I know this would be a sign of infection?

I know the spotting can be normal I just wondered about the sweats? I’m mid thirties. Woke up drenched both nights and also sweating a lot if I’m busy during the day.

has anyone experienced this?

hope it passes soon?

x

Similar- had put in early Feb, removed after 1 month of absolute bl&@dy nightmare after hysteroscopy and biopsy, infection made me very unwell - sweating at intervals at night, felt nausea like morning sickness, prac. Nurse said it was surge of progesterone - I didn’t feel informed at all about possibilities in hospital , on strong antibiotics, how are you now? Xx

The sweating only lasted a day or so longer and I got quite a lot of spots and very greasy hair. We’re now at about 7 weeks post fitting and I’m still spotting. Feeling fed up. I phoned for my hysteroscopy result and they said the biopsy was fine but I’ve had no letter xx

Ah that’s really good news about biopsy, it’s a relief isn’t it to know the ‘big stuff’ is ok, I hope things settle for you - take good care of yourself, as women we are often bottom of the pile, and thank you for your post, it made me feel so less alone and validated xx

Did you wait long for your biopsy results? Did you have yours under anasthetic or awake??

I was sick of waiting after a month and I called them. I still don’t know what’s next though, I assume just trial this coil. I am not feeling hopeful, but keep searching on here for positive stories lol xx
