Breast lump

I’m 53 and on HRT

Had a painful lump on my breast which seemed to appear quite quickly on Sun night. Looked like a spot so I got some magnesium sulphate paste and dressings. Some pus came out the next two mornings. It was red and angry.

the redness hasn’t got bigger, there’s no head on it but still a hard lump just under the surface.

I actually had a mammogram last Friday - before I noticed the lump.

should I leave it a week or so, see if it resolves?

I would leave it a week and wait for your mammo results. Sounds like a skin infection, spot or boil if there was pus. And I say that as a BC survivor.
