Breastfeeding and period

My period returned when DS was 7.5 months. Still breastfeeding and he's now 15 months. Since then my cycles have been 42, 35, 37, 35, 32 days etc, so not exactly regular but nothing crazy. Until my last cycle- my period came 11 days early which was very unusual (it's only ever been late). Or so I though. I bled basically once which really seemed liked a light start to a period. And that's it. Then 10 days later, when actual period was due, one bleed again. This was 3 days ago and nothing since.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be that my little one has maybe started having more milk than the previous months, therefore suppressing my period again?

I haven’t experienced this. Could you be menopausal?

I'd be very shocked as I'm 30 😕 no other relatives experienced early menopause.

Without meaning to scare you, do a pregnancy test.

if negative, then you could just be them settling back.

Very unlikely to be that- but fair point, just to rule it out. Just confusing as I've have 7-8 cycles since they've returned and they've all been sort of regular. So it's strange that 8 months later this is happening. I think my ds may have upped his milk intake this month and less solids, but I didn't think it would affect my period so fast!

Only that this did happen to me, it was just one time that it could have happened, I was breast feeding and my periods hadn’t even come back. I had an implantation bleed which I thought was a weird small period and then 3 months later took a random test and was 10 weeks pregnant with no idea.

It’s usual your periods to be very different after a pregnancy. I would see the GP but I wouldn’t stress.
