Oldest and dearest friend starting chemo this week. I want to put a box together of things she'll need/appreciate over the coming weeks. If you've been through this, what made a difference for you.

Perhaps a bit expensive but I have seen people suggest a heated throw is a useful present for someone who is poorly.

Lip balm, hand cream, comfy socks, fruity sweets, nice water bottle.
Someone to come in and do a big clean.
Voucher for a take away for when she feels like eating something nice.

Chemo can make you very cold sensitive. Really nice fleece/ cashmere gloves, scarf, hat.
Aveeno or similar hand cream
Herbal tea bags
Thermal drink cup

Some light magazines / books for when she’s actually having the treatment.
warm and comfy leisure wear.

When I had chemo the gift I loved most was old fashioned flowers or a plant.
The most important thing you can give is yourself. "Friends" disappear or get bored with the whole thing. Stick with it. Remember when her treatment days are and message or ring every time. She may feel really well on those days but utterly awful on day 6. Remember when it's her day 6.
