Hormonal leg pain?

Does anybody else suffer with this? I am currently EBF, baby is 5 months and periods haven't returned yet, however the past couple of weeks I've started to get terrible pain in one of my legs again which keeps me awake unless I take ibuprofen. I have also had to take it in the day. Thinking my period may be making a return. I used the get this just before my period and it would either be the right or left leg, I always thought perhaps its linked to the side that I've released an egg from that month? Mentioned to GP in past who dismissed it. Does anyone else get this, if so what do you use for pain relief? I hate taking so much ibuprofen when it happens.

I have endometriosis and get this: the reason it's on one leg is that the endo is near a nerve that travels down and so when the endo plaque inflames, it causes pain all down the nerve.

I'm not saying you have endo, but in my case that's the cause

Thanks for reply @madeyemoody That's interesting. Do you get this all time, or is it linked to cycles?

It's linked to PMS and my period, I can tell when I'm getting close to my period starting because the leg pains start. So about 7 days before my period starts. And then stops at the end of my period.

I did not know this was a thing, my mind is blown.

I get leg pain, in the very end of my femur (not my knee). I had never linked it to my cycle before but it totally makes sense. I'm about a week away from my period and it started yesterday.

I also think I have endometriosis after two c sections, my last few periods have been horrendously painful especially in my scar and randomly my arse!

I get it too with endo. My consultant explained that the pain was similar in origins to being kicked in the balls if you’re a man. That pain travels down the leg too and it’s a similar (?) bit of anatomy only ours are inside us. I withstood the temptation to comment about the amount of fuss men make when I live with that equivalent pain all the time!

@SonnySideDown interesting as I had my second section 5 months ago! Although I did get this before pregnancy but not as bad.
