Rigiviedon for Endometriosis

My GP has prescribed me Rigiviedon contraceptive pill to try for my Endometriosis,

I was previously on Tranexamic acid and Mefenamic acid which helped a bit but not massively.

Has anyone been on this?

A quick Google (I know, I know) shows the usual horror stories so now I'm wondering if I should take it.

I haven't taken contraceptives for years so am a bit scared of going back on hormones.

I've due to see a Gynae consultant in March after a 6 month wait where I'm hoping I'll be put on the list for another laparoscopy.

I've been on Rigevidon for years to control the chronic pain of Endometriosis and it has been a God send. I take 3 packets one after the other and then have a much lighter, pain free period in the 7 day break before I start again. Just go for it.

I don't have endometriosis, but used to take it for unpredictable heavy and horrible periods that used to make me retch every month. Personally I found it absolutely amazing and the predictable + lighter bleeds every month were very manageable.

That's good to know, thank you.

Did either of you experience a lot of weight gain from it?

I'm already a stone and a half overweight so am a bit concerned that it will make me gain even more

@Fedupofbeinginpain it's hard to say as I'm on other meds that can lead to weight gain and I've hit the menopause. That said, weight gain for me was the least of my worries. I was in so much pain each month I wouldn't have been bothered.

Sorry, only just saw this. I don't think so, I was a size 10 when I started taking it and remained pretty stable for about 4 years. It's the two kids I've had since that pushed me up a stone 😂
